Barn Conversion, Patching, West Sussex
Preservation mixed with a contemporary design
Brief: Create new family home from cattle shed dating back c.1850
A complete renovation from the new foundations to the landscaped exterior. The original oak gallow support posts were kept to show the origins of the barns construction with steel cross beams used to support a new 2nd floor and pitched roof which would have 3 new bedrooms with one en-suite. All amenities were supplied along with new kitchen and bathroom. The original flint stone wall was renovated and extended with all the flint dug up from the surrounding area. A new driveway and lawn laid. A new stable was constructed at the side of the property.
